Chapelle made the remarks during a TD Garden show on Thursday. According to The Wall Street Journal, the comic commended Hamas' attack on Israel but also condemned Israel for what he considered war crimes, which drew boos and shouts from the audience, posted Andrew Margolie, who was at the show, on Facebook

A gentleman towards the front yelled out "You should shut the F up". Chappelle lost it on the man yelling, "You do not tell me to shut the F up at MY show". Chappelle then started on a tirade of his beliefs leaving comedy behind and focusing purely on the politics.

The Wall Street Journal reported several people shouted in support of Israel as well as Palestine. Many walked out after that moment, including Margolie.

"The audience was cheering Chappelle on during his tirade. I was sick. We were sick. I turned to my friends and wife and said I think it is time to go. We walked out and met up with many other Jews leaving the show."

Since news broke of the incident, fans and critics of the comedian have fought a heated debate online, but Chappelle has yet to weigh in on the controversy.

No cameras were allowed at the venue.
